Soy Reduces Belly Fat

Posted by rangga on Wednesday, January 16, 2008

A daily serving of soy may help postmenopausal
women avoid gaining fat around the middle,
preliminary research suggests.

In a study of 18 postmenopausal women, researchers
found that those who drank a soy-based shake every
day for three months tended to gain less abdominal
fat than those who had a milk-based shake.

Soy contains compounds called isoflavones that are
help to buffer the the hormone acid estrogen.

So in theory, soy isoflavones could help reduce the
amount of stored fat that binds to hormones like
estrogen.

The new findings appear to be the first to show that
soy protein may affect abdominal fat distribution,
according to the researchers, led by Dr. Cynthia K.
Sites of the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
They report the results in the medical journal
Fertility and Sterility.

The study included 18 women in their 50s who had been
menopausal for one to five years. Half were randomly
assigned to drink a soy-based shake each day, while
the rest were given a shake containing the milk
protein casein.

The women were told to drink half of a shake with
breakfast, and the other half with dinner, and to
substitute the daily drink for other foods in their
diet in order to avoid weight gain.

After three months, the researchers found, women who
drank the soy shake showed less of a gain in abdominal
fat, even though both groups showed similar changes
in weight and overall body fat.

It's not clear why soy protein might affect belly
fat in particular, according to Sites and her
colleagues.

"Whatever the mechanism," they write, "our data
suggest that soy protein containing isoflavones
may prevent the accumulation of fat in the abdominal
depot."

Because excess abdominal fat is especially related
to higher risks of symptoms associated with excess
acidity, such as diabetes and heart disease, limiting
the well-known middle-age spread is important. They
think larger, longer-term studies should continue
to investigate the potential of soy protein.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, a research scientist
at the pH Miracle Living Center states, "organic sprouted
soy contains the highest concentrations of isoflavones.
Isoflavones are excellent buffers of dietary and
metabolic acids, especially hormones. I recommend
a low heat dehydrated organically sprouted soy, with
a 28 to 1 ratio. That means it takes 28 pounds of
soy sprouts to make 1 pound of finished concentrated
soy sprout powder. This soy sprout powder is great to
add to water or to a green shake. It is also a great
source of protein at 41% by volume. I recommend at
least 1 to 2 ounces a day of the concentrated soy
sprouts which would be the equivalent of eating 2 to
4 pounds of organic sprouts."

The Doctrine of Signatures

Posted by rangga on Saturday, January 12, 2008

In today’s age of alienation, it may serve our souls
and spirits well to once again, seek
such a symbolic
understanding of the interconnectedness of all life.

To gain a truly holistic perspective we need to go
beyond the physical cause an
d effect theories prevalent
in modern scientific thinking. I would like you to
observe our environment from an inner perspective,
and invite you to glimpse the nature of some of the
archetypes and their echoes which resonate throughout
the realms of our existence.

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye The pupil, iris
and radiating lines look just like the human eye...
and YES science now shows that carrots greatly
enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart
is red and has four chambers. All of the research
shows
tomatoes are indeed pure heart and blood food.

http://www.phmiracleliving.com/veggie-phlakes.htm

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the
heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of
the research today shows that gra
pes are also
profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere,
upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles
or folds are on the nut just like the neo-cortex. We now
know that walnuts help develop over 3 dozen neuron-transmitters
for brain function.

http://www.phmiracleliving.com/nuts-seeds.htm

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney
function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and more look just like bones.
These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are
23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't
have enough sodium in your diet the body pulls it from the
bones, making them weak. The
se foods replenish the
skeletal needs of the body.

Avocados target the health and function of the womb
and cervix of the female and the testes of the male - they
look just like these organs.

Today's research shows that when a woman eats 1
avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted
birth weight and prevents cervical cancers. And how
profound is this? ....

http://www.phmiracleliving.com/RanchoAvorado.htm

It takes exactly 9 months to grow an avocado from
blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic
chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these
foods (modern science has only studied and named
about 141 of them).

One of these compounds is glutathione the most
powerful antioxidant of the body in buffering
dietary and metabolic acids.

http://www.phmiracleliving.com/glutathione.htm

Avocados also contain a phytochemical called
lutein that protects the prostate and ovaries
from acids that cause cancer.
http://www.phmiracleliving.com/avocado-oil.htm

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they
grow. Figs increase the motility of male sperm and
increase the numbers of Spermas well to overcome
male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually
balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health
and function of the ovaries and testes.

Grapefruits, lemons and lime fruits look just like the
mammary glands of the female and actually assist the
health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and
out of the breasts.

http://www.phmiracleliving.com/grapefruit.htm

Onions look like body cells. Today's research shows
that onions help clear waste materials from all of the
body cells They even produce tears which wash the
epithelial layers of the eyes.

The human mind has an inherent urge to make
sense of the
environment, to detect patterns, to
classify its impressions, and to
create order out
of chaos.

The Reversal of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's in Minutes!

Posted by rangga on Friday, January 11, 2008

An extraordinary new scientific study, which for
the first time documents marked improvement in
Alzheimer’s disease within minutes of administration
of a therapeutic molecule, has just been published
in the Journal of Neuroinflammation.

This new study highlights the importance of certain
soluble proteins, called cytokines, in Alzheimer’s
disease. The study focuses on one of these cytokines,
tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF), a critical component
of the brain’s immune system. Normally, TNF finely
regulates the transmission of neural impulses in the
brain. The authors hypothesized that elevated levels
of TNF in Alzheimer’s disease interfere with this
regulation. To reduce elevated TNF, the authors gave
patients an injection of an anti-TNF therapeutic
called etanercept. Excess TNF-alpha has been documented
in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with Alzheimer’s.

The new study documents a dramatic and unprecedented
therapeutic effect in an Alzheimer’s patient:
improvement within minutes following delivery of
perispinal etanercept, which is etanercept given
by injection in the spine. Etanercept (trade name
Enbrel) binds and inactivates excess TNF. Etanercept
is FDA approved to treat a number of immune-mediated
disorders and is used off label in the study.

Doctor: Save Your Brain from Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s
and Worse . . .

The use of anti-TNF therapeutics as a new treatment
choice for many diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis
and potentially even Alzheimer’s, was recently chosen
as one of the top 10 health stories of 2007 by the
Harvard Health Letter.

Similarly, the Neurotechnology Industry Organization
has recently selected new treatment targets revealed
by neuroimmunology (such as excess TNF) as one of the
top 10 Neuroscience Trends of 2007. And the Dana
Alliance for Brain Initiatives has chosen the pilot
study using perispinal etanercept for Alzheimer’s
for inclusion and discussion in their 2007 Progress
Report on Brain Research.

The lead author of the study, Edward Tobinick M.D.,
is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at
the University of California, Los Angeles and director
of the Institute for Neurological Research, a private
medical group in Los Angeles. Hyman Gross, M.D.,
clinical professor of neurology at the University
of Southern California, was co-author.

The study is accompanied by an extensive commentary
by Sue Griffin, Ph.D., director of research at the
Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging at the
University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS)
in Little Rock and at the Geriatric Research and
Clinical Center at the VA Hospital in Little Rock,
who along with Robert Mrak, M.D., chairman of
pathology at University of Toledo Medical School,
are editors-in-chief of the Journal of
Neuroinflammation.

Griffin and Mrak are pioneers in the field of
neuroinflammation. Griffin published a landmark
study in 1989 describing the association of
cytokine overexpression in the brain and Alzheimer’s
disease. Her research helped pave the way for the
findings of the present study. Griffin has recently
been selected for membership in the Dana Alliance
for Brain Initiatives, a nonprofit organization
of more than 200 leading neuroscientists, including
ten Nobel laureates.

“It is unprecedented that we can see cognitive
and behavioral improvement in a patient with
established dementia within minutes of therapeutic
intervention,” said Griffin. “It is imperative
that the medical and scientific communities
immediately undertake to further investigate and
characterize the physiologic mechanisms involved.
This gives all of us in Alzheimer’s research a
tremendous new clue about new avenues of research,
which is so exciting and so needed in the field of
Alzheimer’s. Even though this report predominantly
discusses a single patient, it is of significant
scientific interest because of the potential insight
it may give into the processes involved in the brain
dysfunction of Alzheimer’s.”

While the article discusses one patient, many other
patients with mild to severe Alzheimer’s received the
treatment and all have shown sustained and marked
improvement.

The new study, entitled “Rapid cognitive improvement
in Alzheimer’s disease following perispinal
etanercept administration,” and the accompanying
commentary, entitled “Perispinal etanercept:
Potential as an Alzheimer’s therapeutic,” are
available on the Web site of the Journal of
Neuroinflammation, at:

http://www.jneuroinflammation.com.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, a research
scientist at the pH Miracle Living Center,
states, "a significant reduction of TNF can
be achieved through a hyper-alkalization
of the blood then tissues. This forced
alkaline pH of the tissues buffers the
acids that cause the symptoms of inflammation
that activates the immune system and the
release of TNF. You can support the immune
response and reduce or eliminate the release
of TNF with an alkaline lifestyle and diet."

Exercise and Diet Reduces Menopausal Symptoms

Posted by rangga on Thursday, January 10, 2008

With more menopausal women seeking natural
therapies to ease symptoms, a new study has
found that simply adding a brisk walking
routine can reduce a variety of psychological
symptoms such as anxiety, stress and depression.
The research is published in the January issue
of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention.

“With the aging population, physical activity
represents one way for women to stay mentally
healthy. Physical activity can help throughout
the menopausal transition and afterwards,” said
Temple University public health researcher Deborah
Nelson, Ph.D, the study’s lead author.

From 1996 to 1997, 380 women living in Philadelphia
were recruited and they have been followed for more
than eight years. The women reported their physical
activity level and menopausal symptoms including
stress, anxiety, depression and hot flashes.

The average age at the beginning of the study was
42 years old; 49 percent were African American,
58 percent reported more than a high school education,
and 38 percent smoked cigarettes.

“We recruited African-American and Caucasian women
living in Philadelphia for this study to better
represent the large population of urban women. These
results can be generalizable to both urban Caucasian
and African-American women, groups of women that have
been under-represented in previous studies,” Nelson
said.

In the category of stress, researchers found that
high levels of physical activity were the most
beneficial to postmenopausal women and African-
American women. They reported lower levels of
perceived stress than those who did not exercise.
This top-tier group walked at a moderate pace
(4 miles per hour) for an hour and a half at least
five times a week.

While the study found mental benefits of exercise,
it did not show that exercise reduced physical
symptoms such as hot flashes.

According to Dr. Robert O. Young, a research
scientist at the pH Miracle Living Center stated,
"the symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes
are significantly reduced when a woman follows
an alkaline lifestyle and diet, including an
exercise program that incorporates whole body
vibrational exercising."

“Physical symptoms like hot flashes will go away
when you reach menopause, but mental health is
something women still need to think about post-
menopause,” Nelson said.

"When women start feeling better from an alkaline
lifestyle and diet they start thinking better and
with better mental health they start doing better,"
states Dr. Young.

The middle tier walked five times a week for 40
minutes. The bottom group — considered the non-
exercisers — walked for 15 minutes about five
times a week.

By design, all of the women were pre-menopausal
at baseline. Eight years after enrollment, 20
percent of the women were menopausal with an
additional 18 percent classified in the late
transitional phase.

“In the urban setting, these women walked outside
on city blocks or in shopping malls. Groups could
organize to take walks after dinner. It didn’t
require going to the gym,” Nelson said. “You don’t
have to run 20 miles a week to reap the benefits
of exercise. If you stick to a moderate-paced walking
schedule, it can keep your body mass index down and
lower the risk of stress, anxiety and depression,”
she added.

"To maximize time and increase the effectiveness of
the workout there is nothing better then whole
body vibrational exercise. Five minutes on a whole
body vibrational exercise machine is equal to a 60
minutes of intense exercise," states Dr. Young.
